                          Tradition dictates that you simmer that "sauce" gawd damn u not gravy.... for 4-6hours, none of this fast food 1.5 hrs of simmering (also the excess can be kept frozen)

                                My mom uses a blend of Monterey jack and mozzarella.
                                I find that ricotta in most lasagnas goes unseasoned, which is a dumb idea when it has basically no flavor. Alone, I like it on crackers, or toast, they don't overpower it's tiny flavor. T

                                          Whenever someone cooks an italian dish we italians get angry. No matter how good or bad you make it you're always wrong.                                                                       As an Italian, I feel very offended by you putting ricotta, mozzarella and basil in a lasagna.

                                                                                Try it leaving it without tin foil a little more, it will have a crunchier crust. Also, if you have good tomatos and you let it cook slower, you won't need to add any tomato paste.
