@SmarterEveryDay I'm always a bit shy of addressing you Prominent Busy People...you've a lot better things to do than put up with nosy folk like me.

I plan to keep waving at my screen and yelling "HI DESTIN!" every time I see you pop up? Does that count?

Ps....Anyone who hustles you for more uploads, etc, should have to wait an extra week to see the next one. :P

@SmarterEveryDay Destin4president! I've loved your podcast (and I'm not an American). China's social ranking system is really scaring and the world is going straight in that direction. I agree on the nose-dive problem (that could be addressed by a weighting algorithm) but I think the core problem is that we're getting used to the idea that machines can be better then humans in judging humans. I'm not saying that AI has no good potential in this field (there are many example of this already), I'm saying that we're inherently superior to do so, it's built in our brain for example we have entire set of neurons just dedicated to judge mouth and facial muscles movements to get an intuitive "feeling" of the other person/animal intention/truthiness. The smell test you were speaking about, it came by evolution.
The dystopian future is reaching our present time faster then one might think, and is very important to speak about this stuff to hopefully prevent the inevitable nefarious outcome these issues presents.

@SmarterEveryDay I really appreciate your videos, and you as a person. It's sometimes hard for people to see YouTube creators as people and not robots, getting mad when you don't upload on time. Thank you so much for all the work you do, I love this channel and all the work you do for it. Please don't feel like you need to do all this as people say you need to, you are a person and this is strenuous work! That isn't to say I don't appreciate seeing and learning from these videos. I really hope you see this, because you have helped me get through some really rough times and I wish you the very best in everything.

To be fair oldschool oscilloscopes allow you to manually change the status of signals, if you use a function generator, you need to do some math. And if you want more sine waves, well you can use programs on newer oscilloscopes or additional generators and that way get similar outcomes.

Guess what I want to say by this. is that yes there are many ways to do things with math, but honestly to me this isn't at all that impressive, since most of the electronics class students were just messing with sine waves and none of us ever got famous or anything for doing that. :P

Oh well, guess it's good that the world know what is being done.

At 77 years old I have experienced many times that I don't know everything. In addition though I majored in Physics and minored in math nearly 60 years ago (npn junctions were the thing along with having a bamboo slide rule) and more that I have not used for 50 years - I became a Federal Agent instead. I enjoyed so much your Fourier Series presentation I am tinkering with the myriad of apps out there that make math fun - super way to keep the brain growing while I get smarter every day. Thank you.

people say particle in this huge boiling kettle we are livining is in complete chaos... uncertainity of where the particles are and will be... uncertainty & probability, but people don't realize that this uncertainty... emerge from the idea of how we are limited in observing these "uncertain" particles with a clear eye... but deep instead of how they particle behave there might be an order. , we just don't notice it or know about it. After all they probabilities them is government by mathematical functions which determines the particles con-straits and abilities?

It was actually easy . The series is basically sin(wt) + sin(3wt)/3 + sin(5wt)/5 ................ t is your time step , w = freq . The more terms the squarer. Getting the graphics looking good & moving was the tricky bit.

I love the p philosophical study of conciousness, reality, and experience. I love your channel! I'm working on some philosophical issues and wondered if you could use this application to show why light waves slow down and change direction through different mediums. I think they slow because they stack together to get a slower wave speed. How would stacking circle makers slow the speed of the wave? I'm working on areas of complexity and this geeks me out! Thanks Brother! If you really want to make me happy, see if bell's inequality can relate to how the fourier circles pass through Quantum filters. I have large questions! Thank you!

the energy supply - throughout the world we could have had a boom without any unemployed and hopeless young people. Financed from on it self - with many new training places and much more private property. A far better infrastructure and many satisfied young families. With a lot of tax money we have developed the foundations - for very good photovoltaics, the best wind turbines, heat pumps, inexpensive and free scalable electricity storage, revolutionary electronic components for power electronics and much more.

By stopping the energy revolution (many bankruptcies in photovoltaics and now just starting in the wind industry) in favour of a few oligopolists, our politicians prevented a model of energy supply that would change the world.

Everything can be financed by the saved oil, gas and coal. It is not just transport sector. The heating systems in our country consume far more
energy. We have excellent heat pumps for heating with electricity from wind and photovoltaic, we even have solar powered air conditioners !  Absorption chillers are operated via hot water from 80 degrees Celsius from tube collectors - without a compressor. Air conditioning almost without electricity consumption!

We have inexpensive, scalable Redox Flow batteries (stores electrical energy in chemical compounds - with two electrolytes in two tanks),
huge accumulators without losses - which have been working well for a long time for example in Hokkaido in Japan with 60 MWh capacity and 15 MW power - and a few more other chemical batteries such as sodium hydroxide etc. etc. etc..

Photovoltaics and house batteries instead of emergency power generators - a solution for the world - these also relieve the power grids.
Especially where there are only overhead power lines all over the world.

A world which, within two years, would only have half of thecurrent consumption of oil, gas and coal would be a different world and a more
