We (humans) tend to get ahead of ourselves. We ought to develop necessary technology first before considering the grand plan of Dyson spheres.

It takes a million to build bike lane (Here in Seattle, WW) yet you want to build a Dyson sphere around a star?!

Well, this is a trip down memory lane to all those hours spent watching Star Trek: the Next Generation. There's an entire episode about a Dyson sphere and they explain the Romulans' engines as working with singularities.

If we did harvest mercury, venus, and mars, would that mess with our orbit?

"It's never aliens unless all other explanations are equally likely" would be the more rational, intellectually honest version of what you said. I have no idea why people who make a living studying all the bizarreness the universe has to offer irrationally hold up their noses at aliens. String Theory, many worlds, fine, aliens woah hold on buddy.

We can’t even get all the people to acknowledge the climate crisis yet care for serious immediate countermeasures. How the fuck could such a failing species evolve enough to build a complex machine like a Dyson sphere? Honest question.

I wonder if a type 2 civilization can prevent the heat death of there Earth like planet by absorbing or deflecting excessive heat on there aging G Type star that is roughly a billion years older then our sun, by using either a dyson sphere or swarm by absorbing and controlling the exessive solar energy of its host G type star by setting the heat to levels were heat is constantly stable enough to sustain life? 🤔

the bad part is that everyone of those planets has a magnetic pull. It could move our earth off course so we would plummet into our sun thus not needing the swarm at all hehe

Is there something wrong with changing your mind? This isn't religion, if we have reasons to change our mind, we do.

my only problem with these scenarios that consume entire planets for raw materials is the effect that the change is mass location will have on the remaining planets in the system. while a loss of a few rocky inner planets might not cause major changes, even a minor change to the orbit of the earth could potentially have devastating consequences.

The sun is not the only influence to our planet in our solar system let alone galaxy. Each planet within our solar system has it's own influence to ours and the other planets within. So destroying a planet and/or bleeding one dry of its energy there by disrupting everything mentioned the natural cycle can only bring cataclysmic consequences as a
