I'll bet the Saharan Dust Clouds are causing a lot of this damage.

What makes me laugh is they needed blades that could change their pitch automatically with wind speed. They went to engineers at NASA to have them work on it. NASA came back and said it couldn't be done.
Me thinks many engineers at NASA are fools. LOL. ha ha he he.

Glaring error is "Professor" doesn't understand difference between voltage and energy. Voltage without current is useless. For his simple test on a dc machine he needed a load and had to measure current. P=VxI.

Make smaller towers with smaller blades, it makes less el, but cost less, easier to fix, cheaper to fix, less problems if wind is to high and much more

So, wind energy is not as efficient nor reduces "carbon footprint" as the UN and governments asserted, but not held accountable for their lack of testing and engineering that cars must go through.

This is why racing air plane propellers, made from wood, usually have METAL leading edge caps installed.

You simply need to adjust the trailing edge at the end of the blade (pitch adjustment) by just a few degrees to wake up the entire rotor. Please, refer to NACA at first, then please refer to on how an actual wing works when adjusted.
I am not any particular fan of wind power but please, this entire video is just anti-engineering and all about non-engineering. Please.

The point is that they are designed to operate for a certain number of years (20/25 and more recently 40 years for some models). There will be teams of engineers and technicians maintaining turbines which include blade and all other rotating machinery, electrical controls and electronics. Leading edge erosion repair is also part of such exercises. It is not as if designers had not known that the blade tips will be travelling at very high speeds and we have just now discovered such grave mistake.

Water and particulate damage to propellers has been known since the early days of aviation, particularly seaplanes, and using terms like angle-of-attack indicate that they were using aerospace principles. Otherwise why do you have to check the leading edge of the propeller of a Cessna for cracks and cavitation, literally every time you start it up, as part of the pre-flight checks?

More likely, the politicians pushing the tech didn't understand it, and filled in their own knowledge gaps with unsubstantiated statements about maintenance, then blamed it on the nameless, and defenceless engineers. Twas ever thus.

But sure, making engineers sound inept, and we the viewers are so clever because it's so obvious, is a better serotonin booster. Better for views and likes.

It's a challenge, an obstacle or it could be described simply as a problem that needs a solution. They'll never get rid of problems completely. My personal "glaring mistake" is that I, along with YOU, fell for this clickbait.
