I wouldn’t say a disappointment, I’d say a pretty big what if, maybe a bigger what if than Derrick Rose. He came back from his injury too early and wasn’t the same since and Aldo low key wanna throw a lil shade at Kobe ;)

The reason is because he played the 12 -13 season with a back injury and should have just sat out

The Nets owed him for one year and 18.9 million. I'd take that for doing nothing! The dunk contests, alone, showed Howard is the most athletically gifted Center of all-time. He was a freak of nature athlete and strong/built like a Defensive End. His length is off the charts for a player his height. (same wingspan as S. O'Neal, 7'6") That gift, with his athleticism, used to allow him to swat any nearby shots. With all of his gifts, Howard gives the impression of not caring much, never being serious and being a monster softy. Mentally, he's extremely soft. Until Dwight was drafted, I never knew smiling too much could be a problem. It's hard to guess how badly his back injury hurt his career. Not only did it hurt his game, which is only athleticism, but he's said it shook his confidence. Anything but a dunk and you can't shots to go down for Howard. He's a huge FT liability. I know an NBA fan, and lawyer, in Atlanta who is professional but has made it clear that everywhere Howard lands, family lawyers get a ton of business. Not only does Howard piss people off, he's got enough children to fill out an NBA roster. The official number is nowhere near the ?? actual number. He's going to dethrone Calvin Murphy...if he already hasn't taken the embarrassing throne. That's his business. I think it's pitiful he's setting up so many fatherless children and it speaks toward his moral character and unstable thinking. I only mention it because it suggests Howard may have some real personal problems...maybe mental heath issues where there's no shame in getting a help for unless your ego gets in the way. He came from a mega-religious family. He was billed as a choir boy and the NBA loved it but it just wasn't true. He's a 32 year old child. I think he can get another 1-3 year contract but he'll have to accept far smaller amounts than he ever expected....maybe even vet. minimums. I'm not sure his ego can handle playing for 6-8 million per year. I wish the guy luck and hope that he gets his life straight. He's about to have no income for the first time in his adult life and a TON of bills. Thanks for the video.

melo is way more disappointing honestly. He is also a cancer that ONLY scored. Nothing else. Barely led the nuggets to anything and led the knicks nowhere as well. Dwight atleast was a powerhouse in both offense and won awards (3 dpoys) and went to the finals as the only super star.
granted, his off court stuff is worse then melo, but I believe that his stats and accomplishments outweigh those moments.

I do not think so because before he left the magic they trade him because he had back surgery and when they traded him to the lakers he was still was going through back problems and then everyone else on the team got he like Kobe Steve Nash Metta world peace and himself so then the magic where not going nowhere so when he left the lakers I now he and James harden did not like each other but think even if Dwight Howard was not causing problems in the locker room do you ready think that team whould make the finals in my opinion no and Dwight was averages were lows for his career and they actually make the western conference finals when he was there and then when he went to the hawks the were not contenders in the east or the nba but they still make the playoffs but it was still I lot of problems in the locker room and then was so that didn’t work out so when he went to Charlotte they were not that bad if you think about they were 36-46 still bad but the not the best than he is now on the wizards and is now is getting injured and while he is out we just heard that he is buysexual and is sleeping with a boy but back to the tropic he is a hall of famer tmac is a hall of famer and never got out the first round and when Dwight had gone to the finals he won a game so is he the biggest disappointment ever no

He ain't by any means a Hall of Famer!! He has no skills relied only on his athletic ability.. He never put up any work to get better.. He never took the game seriously and he thinks of himself as if he is Hakeem!!!! Kobe said it best when he called him soft. BTW the team that made it to the finals in 2009 had 2 or 3 other all-stars so he didn't carry anyone and got destroyed in the finals. If this guy ends up making the HOF and a great player like Chris Webber is still out of it it will be a big shame to the game of basketball...

Mustard...no. Just...no. Howard is what he is. He's a damn good player. The league is crazy right now. Cousins can't get a max deal but CJ MCcollum is making big bank? No shade on CJ, he's a good player, but he doesn't move the needle like an inside player like Dwight. The league is perimeter biased right now. The Wizards will shock people this year. Biggest disappointment ever? Really? Ever? C'mon dude. Weird title. There are more disappointing players in the league right now. 3-4 top five picks every year end up being worse than Dwight.

I honestly think Dwight could last until he is 40 if more injuries don't haunt him. Obviously his athleticism has dipped but his strength will always be among the best in the league. I'm not saying if he stays till 39 or 40 he will be a double-double player in all of those years, but I believe he could be a very valuable asset off the bench. And of course many teams could always use a big body (Joel Anthony for example). If he succeeds in the smallest chance in lowering his ego and brings himself down to earth he could achieve a career like Vince Carter. A prime cut short but still a long time player in the league. Vince also used to have some ego issues, until he of course fixed them and became one of the most loved players. But Dwights ego has shown to be on a whole different level. And even if he retires the man is loaded and set for life. And also the man is a Hall of Famer based on his Magic years alone. If you think about how impressive it was for him to make it to the finals in that league with that team you begin to have a little more respect for the man and the players on that team. It still pisses me off that he would never take notes from greats like McHale, Kareem, Hakeem, Shaq, Nash, etc. That honestly may have hurt him more than the back injury.

Why doesn’t he just try shooting the 3? Who cares if he misses, it’s 100% better than not trying.

I don't think he is the biggest let down...there have been several other players that not even come close to doing as well as he has. I also think he is a guy not a lot of players like tbh. Which is probably the main reason he has been traded around so much. Even GS didn't want him and picked up Boogie instead...and Boogie has been called a cancer and just had a huge injury that is hard to ever come back from. But I always felt Dwight should have been dominate and never was dominate. He had the potential to use his strength in the way shaq used his size...but he never did. He always seemed a little soft to me too and didn't push himself when he needed to. It's a shame cause he could have been a beast.
