Based on the number of college players drafted and not ready for the NBA, the number of college players who will not graduate, the recent scandals over sponsorship and irregularities, I have to say it's wise to take that route and I wonder how come there aren't more high school players doing the same.

The life style of New Zealand is so relaxing and cruisy RJ will settle down a lot easier and faster then he expects, there’s no language barrier, they have everything America has such as Wendy’s, Subway, Burger King, Carl Johnson’s, you name it

Why is Colin acting like no one has done this before, like Brandon Jennings did this 10 years ago? I mean I get it has not worked for American players but people have done it.

For athletes with a high certainty of going professional, college is at best exploitative; and at worst a risk of injury and therefore a risk of millions of $$$ in future income. The Rock (as his character in Ballers explains) broke it down in the following scene:

Colin does a nice job making him feel relaxed. I have been living in New Zealand for 20 years and it is very nice and the basketball is great. the Breakers play in the Australian NBL and lots of great pros in the league. Has become one of the top 5 leagues outside the NBA. Very high standard. He will get better here for sure.

A pro player's career starts after high school whether you go to college or not. The only difference is money and exposure. Since most of these kids are "one and dones" anyway, the college experience doesn't really help them to become better players. I'm rooting for this kid to succeed.

The USWNT play inferior opponent, the USMNT play equal to superior opponents, all of whom are far superior than any women’s soccer team. Truth.
